End of Room Availability (14 Sept.)
The block of rooms at the Westin La Paloma expires at 5pm Mountain Standard Time on 14 September. However, the hotel is now fully booked on the nights of 17-18 and 18-19 Oct. Google would be a good resource for locating alternative lodging arrangements. One hotel we can recommend is the Windmill Inn & Suites at the corner of River Road and Campbell Ave., which currently has availability, is very nice, and is only a 5 min drive down the hill from the Westin La Paloma.

The block of rooms at the Westin La Paloma for the night of 18-19 Oct. is fully booked, though rooms on prior nights are still available. If you wish to stay at the conference hotel on this night, you may place your name on a wait list by contacting our group reservations coordinator at the Westin La Paloma, Dawn Glass via e-mail (Dawn.Glass@westin.com) or by phone at +1-520-577-5862.
Update on Hotel Availability (25 Aug.)
At present our block of rooms at the Westin La Paloma for the night of 18-19 Oct. appears to be fully booked. (Rooms on prior nights are still available.) The LOC is attempting to secure more rooms on this date, though this may be difficult because another conference has been booked at the hotel immediately following ADASS. If you attempt to book a room via the hotel's ADASS web site with a check-out date of 19 Oct., you will see a message that says no rooms are available for one or more of the nights of your stay. This isn't quite true (yet), as some rooms appear to be available, but at a higher rate.
If you need to depart on the 19th, what we suggest is the following:
- Book a room with a check-out date of 18 Oct.
- Go to the regular hotel web site
- Book a room at the regular (expensive) rate for 18-19 Oct.

Special notes
- We strongly recommend that you use the customized Westin ADASS 2006 registration site to register, and not the hotel's regular web site. Alternatively, you can phone the hotel directly to book your room. Be sure to identify yourself as an attendee of the ADASS (2006) conference in order to get the special conference rate.
- In the event of cancellation, you must cancel your hotel reservation seven (7) days prior to the scheduled arrival date to avoid paying a one night room charge penalty. In the event of early departure, you must advise the hotel of the early departure before or at check-in of any change in the scheduled length of the stay to avoid paying a one night room charge penalty.
- Up to three children under 17 years of age may stay in the room with their parents at no extra charge. For more than two adults in a room, there is a US$30 charge, plus tax, for each extra adult.
- The cutoff date for the guaranteed room rate is 11 September at 17:00 Mountain Standard Time. Reservations after this date will be subject to availability at the hotel's prevailing rate.
Resort Fee & Amenities
The US$11 per day Resort Fee is waived for ADASS attendees. Please ignore any and all references to this ''mandatory'' fee on the hotel web site: you will not be charged for it. (We have complained about the continued references on their web site to this fee, to no avail.) All ADASS attendees will still get the benefits which are provided by the Resort Fee. These amenities include at no charge:
- daily newspaper
- unlimited local phone calls and long distance access (toll-free, credit card, and collect calls)
- self-parking (includes covered and uncovered spaces)
- access to in-room safe
- Starbucks coffee available in every room
- access to the Fitness Center, includes regularly scheduled fitness classes
- shuttle service to La Encantada Shopping Center during the day
Please be aware that La Paloma is strictly a non-smoking facility. All smoking must be done outside in clearly marked areas.
When searching for a room via the hotel registration pages, you may see rooms described as Traditional and Deluxe. The only difference between these rooms is the Deluxe room is considered to have a better view. All rooms have phones with data ports; there is a fee for internet access in the hotel room. Note that wireless internet will be provided during the meeting in the meeting rooms and surrounding areas.
