Abstract Submission Instructions
Abstracts are required for all types of presentations at ADASS, and they should summarize concisely what is to be presented. The Program Organizing Committee will make the final determination regarding acceptance and the content of the program. The strength of the abstract is the most important criterion for accepting contributions to the program. Registered participants may request an oral presentation (provided the abstract is submitted by the abstract deadline); those papers that are accepted but cannot be accommodated as oral presentations will be accepted as posters instead.
The presentation types are:
| Category | Type | Presentation Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Oral | Invited | 30 min slot in oral session |
| Contributed | 15 min slot in oral session. Must be requested by the author and approved by the POC. | |
| Poster | Contributed | Display area for entire duration of conference |
| Demonstration | Floor Demo | Demonstration area for full duration of conference |
| Focus Demo | 30 min slot outside of oral sessions | |
| Special | Tutorial | 2-3 hour session on Sunday prior to meeting |
| BoF | 90 min slot outside of oral sessions |
Abstract submission for all presentation types except for BoFs and Tutorials is a part of the registration process. In all cases you must register in order to submit an abstract. You may access the on-line registration form to submit or update your abstract. All accepted abstracts will be available for viewing through this web site prior to the meeting, and will also appear in the printed conference program.
Presentation Policy
Presentations at ADASS conferences, and the submission of associated abstracts, is governed by the ADASS Publications Policy. Notable among the policy provisions are:
- The first author is the presenting author, and must attend the conference
- Registered attendees may present only one paper, be it oral or poster
- Attendees or collaborators may be co-authors on any number of presentations
- Presentors may also contribute one demo
- Only papers that are presented at the conference will be published in the proceedings
Policy provisions will be strictly enforced.
Details related to the preparation and presentation of papers and demos at the meeting are given in the presentation instructions.
Deadline
The deadline for submitting abstracts is 11 August. Abstracts submitted after this deadline will still be considered, but only on a space-available basis. Requests for oral presentations cannot be granted after the deadline.
