Announcements for Sunday, 15 October
Fred Whipple Observatory Tour Group (Updated 9-Oct, 14:00)
Participants on the tour of Fred Whipple Observatory (featuring the MMT Observatory) should arrive at the conference Registration Desk in the Lobby Foyer no later than 7:30 to check in. The bus will depart promptly at 8:00. You will be issued a name tag and escorted to the bus prior to departure time.
Kitt Peak Observatories Tour Group (Updated 9-Oct, 14:00)
Participants on the tour of Kitt Peak should arrive at the conference Registration Desk in the Lobby Foyer no later than 8:00 to check in. The bus will depart promptly at 8:30. You will be issued a name tag and escorted to the bus prior to departure time.
Registration Desk Hours (Updated 9-Oct, 14:00)
The conference Registration Desk is located in the Lobby Foyer: it will open at 12:30 and close at 20:00. You will receive your conference kit, which includes an attache, the printed program, a nametag and holder, your receipt, and tickets for all events for which you signed up. Please note: because the hotel is hosting other meetings at the same time as ADASS, you must wear your conference name badge at all catered events, including coffee breaks, opening reception, lunches, and the banquet. The hotel staff will be instructed to turn away people who are not wearing their name badges. This policy also applies to guests at the Opening Reception and Banquet.
OPTICON Business Meeting (Updated 9-Oct, 14:00)
The OPTICON Network 3.6 business meeting will take place from 13:00 to 16:00 in Canyon I/III. The ADASS registration desk will be open starting at 12:30 for your convenience (see prior announcement).

Registration Desk Hours (Updated 9-Oct, 14:00)
The conference Registration Desk is located in the Lobby Foyer: it will open at 8:00 and close at 17:00.
Conference Photo (Updated 9-Oct, 14:00)
The conference group photo will take place just after Session 2, at 12:30pm. Please follow the LOC members, who will lead you to the Mesa Verde area beyond the pools. Lunch will be served after the photograph is taken.

Proceedings (Updated 17-Oct, 7:00)
Papers presented at ADASS XVI will be published in the Astronomical Society of the Pacific Conference Series. The deadline for manuscript submission is 13 Nov. 2006. Papers submitted after this deadline are not assured of publication in the proceedings. Instructions for preparing manuscripts, plus the style files and LaTeX templates will be posted on the conference website sometime today.
All authors must fill out the Copyright assignment form which you will find in your conference kit. Some additional copies of the form are available at the registration desk. It is easiest to return the completed forms in to the registration desk. Otherwise you will have to FAX these forms to Barb Fraps at NOAO, ph: +1-520-318-8360.
Box Lunches (Updated 17-Oct, 8:00)
Due to a miscommunication, the box lunches disappeared early on Monday. We have been assured that the lunches will remain available during the entire lunch break--at least until they are all consumed.
Breaks are for Registered Participants (Updated 17-Oct, 8:00)
The food offered at the breaks and at lunch is for registered particpants only. Please ask your spouse or other, non-registered companion to obtain breakfast and lunch elsewhere. We have ordered only a fixed amount of food, and if we run out then it is likely that one of the other conference attendees will not be able to obtain their meal.

Poster Break-Down (Updated 18-Oct, 6:30)
Posterboards will be removed from the poster/demo area shortly after the conclusion of the meeting. Please remove your posters by 17:00.
